We used to 'swim' in our mother's womb since her pregnancy period of 9 months and the moment we are delivered in this society, we have never stopped swimming.
However from the period of age 1 to 3, we were made to learn how to walk and we conveniently forget our natural habitat and instincts.
But always remember - life is a vicious cycle.
So we were educated on how to swim, pun intended on every bit.
Pre school - we were subtly informed that we used to swim instead.
At such a young and tender age, those napkin-diapers abductors aka teachers were actually preparing us to swim for the rest of our lives. Deceitful much? My entire childhood of choosing crayon colours, has been nothing but full of lies.
Primary school - we were given theory based swimming lessons and practicals were on flat, dry and safe grounds (homework).
I specifically remember crying a lot in class during my p2 days. I should have known that it was just the beginning..
Secondary school - we were told to get into the pool first, then given a quick revision class on how to control breathing (stress management) and mostly provided with essential floats and life vests (notes).
Um, need I say more? This is where our parents start paying for extra swimming lessons.
Tertiary - we were kicked into the pool and many had to swim overnight to find floatation devices.
I vividly remember those nights full of unsaved-documents-horror when my Microsoft Word crashed.
University (for myself, as of now) - brutally thrown in the sea.
Period.
