I don't get it. I mean I didn't do it so that I'll hear 'thank you(s)'. But don't forget, I didn't have to. So you're telling if somebody does you a favour, you don't have the slightest courtesy to at least say a really quick 'thanks'???
I never ever forget to say 'thank you(s)' because firstly, the person didn't have to. If they are nice, then be nice la aiyoh. Secondly? It's basic upbringing, no?
I'm not here to judge on upbringing of others. Who am I? I'm not a saint. But hey, come on uh. Even the elementary kids downstairs my house scream 'thank you Cher for everything' at the end of the day. Or is a smile too much to ask? That'll be nice. It'll at least brighten up the person's day.
If I can go the extra mile to press that freaking button for you, (unless you're mute which I'm sorry because I don't mean to be disrespectful) you cannot open your mouth and say 'thanks'?
I'm raging because I'm really really sick with flu, cough and sorethroat all, but I'll still say a 'thank you'.
You know what's the saddest thing about the culture in Singapore? For example: When everybody else exits the lift and if I'm the only one who said 'thanks', the face of person who pressed the lift door button will actually light up like s/he won a lucky draw. No kidding.
I can only imagine the joy. It's the little things in life that'll make the world a better place. Don't believe me? Try it the next time.
Disclaimer: I'm NOT saying that EVERYONE OF YOU don't say 'thank you', nor am I only picking on the culture in Singapore.
But have you entered a lift with a Caucasian greeting you 'Good Morning' with a smile before? #JustSaying
Updated: While typing, I just gave up my seat and once again, no thank you(s).
